Separate the website from the accounts around it
Your domain registration, hosting, email, analytics, booking service, and website files are separate pieces. Knowing who controls each one makes future changes easier.
Keep a simple account list. Identify the owner, access method, renewal responsibility, and purpose of each service. A password alone is not a complete handover.
Know what the codebase contains
The codebase is the source used to build your website. A useful handover also explains how to install dependencies, configure any required environment values, build the site, and publish it.
Neon’s offer includes your full website codebase. You can choose ongoing Neon Care, but taking care of the site with Neon is separate from owning it.
Ask about dependencies and licensed assets
Fonts, photographs, plugins, integrations, and hosting can have their own terms or recurring charges. An account or license may not transfer simply because the website files do.
Ask what is included, what is provided by a third party, and what you would need if you moved the site. Keep those details with the handover rather than rediscovering them later.
Ownership still leaves a maintenance choice
You may own the website and still prefer someone else to maintain it. Those are compatible decisions. The useful test is whether ongoing help adds value and the responsibilities are clear.
